Meet the Founder

Kim Willemse,
Cloud Nerd

Dutch by birth, but with a Brazilian soul. I started Nuvem Cloud because cloud engineering deserves precision and warmth in equal measure.

With 8+ years of hands-on experience and certifications in Azure, AWS, and Terraform, I've engineered platforms across the full spectrum: from scrappy startups to multi-cloud enterprise environments. I combine deep technical skill in platform engineering and DevOps with the ability to translate complex infrastructure decisions into language everyone understands.

I build platforms and bridges between the people who use them. Whether it's designing a landing zone, setting up CI/CD pipelines, or explaining architecture decisions to a boardroom, I bring the same energy and clarity.

When I'm not building cloud solutions, you can find me travelling the world, mostly to sunny places, immersing myself in different cultures. Experiences that continue to inspire my creative approach to cloud challenges.

The Name

Why "Nuvem"?

Brazil is like a second home to me. While I'm Dutch, I feel more at home in Brazil than almost anywhere else. That connection, that warmth, that energy, is what I wanted to infuse into my work.

"Nuvem" is Portuguese for "cloud." It's a word that sounds as soft and inviting as a sunny afternoon in Rio. It represents everything I believe technology should be: bright, accessible, and full of possibility.
